Asakura Muntzer Seyrarm (麻倉・
For the Flower of Maize, she and her brother side with Team YVS.[5]
Appearance[]
She is a short girl, often seen with a blank stare. Her hair is light brown, long and braided with a necklace-like, black band laying around her head crookedly. She wears a red puffy dress with black trimming and black Mary-jane shoes.
After starting school in Funbari Hill, she attends Shinra Academy wearing the girls' school uniform.
Personality[]
Since her father's murder she has lost all emotion. She is usually very quiet, only speaking when using a shaman spell and even surprised her brother when she finally spoke, explaining that she could always talk, but didn't wish to talk with anybody.[6] Later on, when she and her brother attack Hao in the throne room, she finally lets her emotions out and she appears to be very protective of her brother.
Abilities and Powers[]
Spirit[]
- See More: Golem | Imari and Shigaraki
Seyrarm and Redseb both operate their father's Golem as their Guardian Ghost.
Seyrarm later inherits Imari and Shigaraki from Asakura Mikihisa and channels them through kitsune and tanuki stuffed animals.[7]
Ahead of the Flower of Maize, Seyrarm is given the pyramid-shaped robot Provin (プロビン Purobin), which wears a dark-colored bow and has a sweet, feminine expression.[8]
History[]
Past[]
Seyrarm was born on February 16, 1994[2] in New York City, NY.[1] Her parents worked together on building a Golem, until the untimely death of her mother.[9]
On Christmas Eve 1998, her father was jumped by Shaft and killed by Chocolove McDonnell,[10][11] and Seyrarm found his body, the shock of which made her catatonic. Seyrarm and her older brother, Redseb, were then placed in an orphanage.[12]
Shaman Fight in Tokyo[]
After learning about shamans, ghosts, and the Shaman Fight from his father's Golem, Redseb decided to enter the tournament so he could fix his sister and locate his father's murderer.[12] Seyrarm and Redseb later witnessed the passing of Ragoh, signaling the beginning of the Shaman Fight.[13]
Not much is known about their performance during the preliminary round, but Seyrarm and Redseb both won two matches and advanced to the main competition. The siblings and the other qualifying competitors attended the opening ceremony at Mimata Hall.[14]
Traveling through America[]
A month later, Seyrarm and the other competitors gathered at Yokocha Base and were flown to America in the Patch Jumbo. The shamans were tasked with locating and reaching the Patch Village within three months. While still tens of thousands of feet in the air, the jumbo jet was revealed to be an Over Soul shortly before it was dematerialized, dropping all of its passengers. The Golem shifted into its Sky Mode, and Seyrarm and Redseb rode it safely down to the ground.[15]
Seyrarm and Redseb successfully reached the Patch Village and formed Team "Kabbalahers" with Asakura Mikihisa.[4]
Shaman Fights Second Round[]
Months later, the competing shamans were transported to the island Tokyo.[16]
Before Team "Kabbalahers" first match, Mikihisa left to train Tao Ren, so Seyrarm and Redseb sat near the stadium and waited for his return.[4] Team "Hana-Gumi" attempted to attack the children, but Tao Jun, Tamamura Tamao, and Kyōyama Anna came to their defense.[17]
Invading the Plants[]
During the barbecue, while everyone was distracted, they escaped to the Mu continent using the Golem. When they attacked Hao using Golem, he used the Spirit of Fire to counterattack and kill them. Seyrarm could still control Golem even after death so Hao had the Spirit of Fire eat her soul. After, Hao tells a shocked Redseb to give a message to Yoh. When Redseb finds Yoh, it turns out that the message Hao sent was the Spirit of Fire because he didn't need it anymore.
Funbari no Uta[]
After the end of the Shaman Fight, both Seyrarm and Redseb were brought back to life and adopted by the Asakura Family. Therefore, their surname was changed to Asakura Muntzer.
Flowers[]
By 2014, Redseb and Seyrarm had become florists with their own shop in Funbari Hill.[18] They have a good relationship with Asakura Hana.[19] When Alumi Numbirch came to town, the Muntzer siblings allowed her stay with them at Asakura Anna's request. However, they were also keeping an eye her as they were part of Team YVS.[20]
The Muntzer siblings, along with Black Maiden, went to Funbari Onsen in order to retrieve the Golem, which had been kept in the inn's storehouse. When Tao Men discovered that the Iron Maiden in the storehouse was a fake, the Golem attacked Men, but Ryu saved the boy. After introducing Niaes, the siblings stood by while she and Men fought. However, they kept Niaes from killing Men since they wanted to avoid fighting the Hana-Gumi Waitresses. Tamao returned in time to prevent any further fighting and invited Team YVS to have tea.[21]
Anime/Manga Difference[]
Compared to the manga and 2021 anime, both Redseb and Seyrarm have only minor cameos with no voice roles in the 2001 anime. In Episode 58, Seyrarm and Redseb are seen briefly, albeit with blonde hair and green eyes, among the crowd in front of Pino Graham as they saw Hao attack Patch HQ from outside. Before that, they were seen only from behind, sitting on the Golem watching the Destiny Star fly by.[22]
Trivia[]
- Like her father and brother, Seyrarm's name comes from a brand of cigarettes sold by Japan Tobacco: Salem (セーラム Sēramu).
- In the character popularity polls, Seyrarm ranked #24 in the second.
