Awaya Ringo (あわや りんご) is a fictional singer in the Shaman King manga and anime series.
About[]
She appears to be a very popular artist and is liked by Asakura Anna. She is famous for her bizarre and rather unique appearance, though Yoh thinks she appears to be quite scary. Anna believes that Ringo's appearance is only a façade to hide her inner weakness and that one of Ringo's poems was actually a very beautiful song.[1]
Due to her dark lyrics full of sorrow, she have gained an army of fans that keeps growing across the world everyday.
She loves to roll her R's and twist her body, but despite this she has an extremely shy personality and is known to pause her conversations with the host when she is on TV.[2]
History[]
At first she was seldom talked about in the media and she appeared only in live concerts, but after the success of one of her songs she started to perform in TV shows every now and then as well.[2]
During the New Year's Eve of 1995, Ringo participated in a show together with Soul Bob and performed "Ringo Urami Uta."[1]
Anime/Manga Difference[]
Though she does not appear in person in the 2001 anime series, she is seen in a TV show watched by Anna in the Funbari no Uta OVA.
