Azazel (アザゼル Azazeru) is a fictional character in the Shaman King manga and anime series. He is a Fallen Angel and a piece of him was used to create a prototype Archangel that serves as Hans Reiheit's Guardian Ghost.[1]
About[]
Azazel is an angel who was lured down to Earth by the beauty of maiden. He violated God's rules by giving weapons to mankind, so he was imprisoned in darkness.[1] Azazel is said to have seven serpent heads, fourteen faces, and twelve wings.[2]
Like the other Archangels, Azazel possesses the ability to shatter other spirits with his attacks.[3]
Mobile Angel[]
Luchist Lasso took a piece of Azazel and placed it in a tank division that had been actively used in World War II.[2] While not a real angel, its reiryoku is almost at Kami Class[4] and surpasses that of the other Archangels, as well as the Spirit of Fire.[1] Because its power exceeded what the X-Laws could effectively use in combat, it had been kept stored in the X-Armory.[5][2]
Hans' main media for his Over Souls are bullets fired from his Steyr AUG,[1] known as Sword No-00 "Reiheit Steyr" (ライハイトステアー Raihaito Suteā).[6]

Description: In its Over Soul form, it becomes gigantic and far bigger than any other of the Archangels and is equipped with numerous large-caliber guns all over its body.
Because of its huge reiryoku level, Reiheit can only maintain this Over Soul for 3 seconds, and if the Over Soul is destroyed, the resulting damage is enough to kill Reiheit.[1]

Description: Rather than waste furyoku creating the giant Over Soul, Hans forms a condensed Armored Over Soul, which consists of two shields over his shoulders and a lance over his Steyr AUG. Offensively, Hans can fire the lance as a projectile. According to Hans, the shields are so strong that they can even withstand attacks from the Five Elemental Warriors. This O.S. is powerful enough to allow Hans to combat Santa Muerte, although the goddess kept the upper hand during their fights.[8]

Azuhans
- Azuhans (アズハンス Azuhansu)
This fusion of Hans and Azazel appears as a six-winged figure wielding the archangel's lance, as well as bearing a halo. The figure also wears armor over its shoulders and around its waist.[9]

Azazel does not appear in the 2001 anime series.
