A Butsu Zone (
The concept comes from Hiroyuki Takei's first manga series, Butsu Zone. As Senju in that series explains, the term "Butsu Zone" is like calling a person from America an "American".[3]
About[]
The spirits are based on various bodhisattvas and deities of Japanese Buddhism. They come from the teachings of Mr. B; however, because Fra YVS corrupted these teachings when he became Shaman King, the Butsu Zones represent the very worldly desires they were originally meant to counteract.[4]
The first Butsu Zone was Dainichi Nyorai, when Saigan Sachi accidentally manifested him through a statue of Senju Kannon.[5] Along her journey from Japan to India, Sachi unwittingly manifested an army of additional Butsu Zones, who acted as her friends and protectors. Continually maintaining these Over Souls for years served as extreme training that increased her furyoku.[1]
After Sati joined Gandhara and gained human followers, her Butsu Zones became the Guardian Ghosts for her followers; however, their Over Souls used different mediums than statues, such as vajra.[6] By 2014, Komeri had switched to using a stone statue for Batoh, as well as one for Jizoh, returning them both to being Butsu Zones.[7]
