The Cho-oni (超鬼, lit. Super Oni) is a type of Oni in the Manga series of Shaman King.
About[edit | edit source]
The Cho-oni's are introduced in the manga during Asakura Yoh's training in hell. These Oni seem to be the strongest Oni within the Great Spirit, capable of slaying Asakura Yohken with ease. These creatures appear rather sadistic and seem to employ underhanded tactics, striking Yoh with an arrow while he is distracted.[1]
Though not a singular entity like the Oh-oni, these creatures claim to run the hell Yoh is in and employ a variety of weapons ranging from bows, iron clubs, and axes.
Anime/Manga Difference[edit | edit source]
Cho-Oni is a manga series only character and never appears in the anime series.
