A Cho-oni (超鬼 Chō Oni, lit. "Ultra Ogre") is a type of oni in the Shaman King manga and anime series.

The Cho-Onis are introduced during Asakura Yoh's training in hell. These onis seem to be the strongest onis within the Great Spirit, capable of slaying Asakura Yohken with ease.[1] These creatures appear rather sadistic and seem to employ underhanded tactics, striking Yoh with an arrow while he is distracted.
Though not a singular entity like the Oh-Oni, these creatures claim to run the hell Yoh is in and employ a variety of weapons, including hammers, bows and arrows, iron clubs, and axes.[2]
Anime/Manga Difference[]
Cho-Onis do not appear in the 2001 anime series.
