Daidarabotchi (大太郎法師),[1] also known as the Yami-Oni (闇鬼)[2] or simply Daidara (ダイダラ),[3] is a fictional creature in the Shaman King manga and anime series. Created by Hamono Tadatomo, it is a human shikigami formed by forcing Daitaro's body to absorb a vast amount of oni and chimimoryo.[4]
Centuries later, it is among the oni that Shaman King Hao implanted in Asakura Hana's body as a safety measure.[2]
About[]
Daidarabotchi is a gigantic, horned skeleton that is cloaked in a dark aura, giving it a black color. Its aura is described as an endless and overwhelming darkness.[2]
Intent on demonstrating the greatness of shamans' power, as well as destroying the capital city for the pain and suffering its people have caused, the Onmyōji Hamono Tadatomo and Yamada Doma decided to create a human shikigami by sacrificing Tadatomo's apprentice, Daitaro, and forcing a vast amount of oni and chimimoryo into the boy's body. Because of its unique construction, Daidarabotchi is super corporeal and thus can not only interact with the physical world but also be seen by non-shaman. Tadatomo's other apprentice, Mappa Doji managed to stop Daidarabotchi's rampage by forcing his own multitude of oni into the giant.[4]
Daidarabotchi can shape and extend its aura into points which can pierce a target—and absorb them, if they are a spirit. It can also use its immense size and strength to crush targets.[4][2][5]

Description: This armor-type Over Soul is the condensed form of Daidarabotchi and contains the accumulated resentment of soldiers from the past millennium. Daitaro's personality also comes to the surface. This Over Soul is strong enough to crack Asakura Yoh's O.S. "Spirit of Sword: Byakkō" and fast enough to dodge Yoh's counterattack.[6] According to Alumi Numbirch, the Ike-Oni is a supremely powerful oni that would be too much for even a Shaman King to handle.[7]
