Eliza Faust (エリザ・ファウスト, Eriza Fausuto) is the guardian ghost of Johann George Faust VIII. She married Faust when she was alive, but was later tragically murdered.
About
Eliza was ill with a fatal disease since her childhood. As the only woman to care for Faust VIII, he, in return, slaved over his studies to find a cure for her. After her recovery, they married and opened a clinic together. She and Faust were very happy living together until a burglar, armed with a gun, broke into the clinic and shot Eliza. Her death led her now-insane husband to dig up her skeleton from her casket and enter the Shaman Fights to bring her back to life. Although he was unable to summon her yet, Anna was able to summon her spirit back to Earth allowing Faust to communicate and see her and later on he became strong enough to call upon Eliza himself.
She was educated as a nurse and worked with Faust at their clinic. According to Faust, she was clumsy with the syringes, injecting the same spot several times until she hit the mark.

Description: The principal O.S. of the necromancer, Faust the VIII. His necromancing Over Soul is the product of years of study from the grimoire left behind by his ancestor, Johann Georg Faust I. With the magic acquired from its contents, Faust is able to vividly recreate the semblance of life in the corpse of his deceased wife Eliza, and reanimate her body by integrating her ghost with her bones and fleshing them out with Furyoku. However, necromancy can only reanimate corpses, and will not work if the ghost has any willpower remaining. To that extent, "Dear Eliza" is nothing more than a glorified doll, with no will of her own aside from Faust. Though not very strong, 'Dear Eliza' is fortified with pure Furyoku and wields a huge hand-made staff affixed with a giant razor with the Over Soul extended over it, making her particularly lethal at close to mid-range combat.
On an interesting note, as a result of the battle between he and Yoh, Faust replaced Eliza's leg bones with his own and now uses the bones of his deceased pet Manchester Terrier, Frankensteiny, as an Over Soul in their place when in battle.

Description: After being recruited into the Funbari Onsen Team, Faust began training under Anna with Tcho Senji Ryakketsu. After mastering its contents, Faust's necromancy improved considerably allowing him and Anna to truly return Eliza's spirit to this world.
Faust makes this O.S. by integrating Eliza's ghost with her bones and tools from his doctor's kit, creating a menacing and demonic giant O.S. nurse--a homage of the original Mephistopheles and his deceased lover, Eliza--complete with demonic wings and over-sized surgical tools for fingers. Her equipment are scalpels, scissors and sonds on her right arm and fingers, and an oversized syringe on her left arm, equipped with a ammuniton belt. According to Faust, the 206 bones is picked with the outmost quality, to make oversouling easier, and have a skin of protection formed with Furyoku of love. Of all the bones used, only the skull is Eliza's own original
As a gigantic Over Soul, Mephisto E wields monstrous strength, and everyone shivers when they see this demonic beauty.

Description: Faust creates this O.S. in order to compete against "The Ren" Team. With a few pointers from Sati, Faust finally achieves the power of "true" resurrection through this O.S.. While essentially an Armor-type O.S., Eliza Operieren is operated by the ghost O.S. of Eliza herself, making this Armor-type rendition similar like Faust's original "Dear Eliza". The O.S. consists of Eliza in her nurses outfit with surgical theater equipment attached to her back. Towards the end of the manga Faust begins to "wear" Eliza and the armor protrudes from his back instead.
Attacks
- Tcho Senji Ryakketsu - Jugon Zonshi(1000 year old secret art - Forbidden incantation for preserving thoughts): After being unable to defeat death many times, Faust can finally, with this oversoul, create a technique that can revive even the dead, as long as their bodies are not too damaged. With this technique he can also remove any damage and fatigue and even regrow limbs, although the latter is a slow and painful process.[1]
- Ampule Hagen(アンプルハーゲン): Faust and Eliza fire hundreds of oversoul missiles that look like hypodermic needles.[2]
Anime/Manga Difference
In the anime series she was able to talk and say more lines than before. Also she is constantly oversouled as her O.S. "Dear Eliza" and would be seen doing many things with Faust.
Trivia
- Ever since becoming Faust's Guardian Ghost has Eliza only spoken once, when they were to fight the Icemen, and said "Faust I will go anywhere with you"
- In the anime, is the O.S. "Mephisto E" refered to as a Giant OverSoul.
