The Funbari no Uta (ふんばりの詩) is a short OVA which premiered at Jump Festa 2002. It adapts five of the Funbari no Uta comics.

The OVA was later released in the Shaman King of Vocal CD series and the third of the special compilation OVAs in VHS/DVD.[1]

OVA Summary[]

Yoh and Anna are as usual doing (reading manga, watching TV) until Anna forces Yoh to buy things for dinner. Reluctantly, Yoh does so and also buys Anna's favorite music CD to help soothe the mood, but she already did.

The Secret Tanabata

Anna then pushes Yoh to get tall bamboo for the Tanabata Festival, which Yoh does with Manta, Horohoro, Ryu and Faust helping.

Funbari Poem 3000km

Manta continues his daily life, but actually misses Yoh and the others as they are away in America.

Rokujizo Night

Yoh and Anna walk until they come stop across to admire the Rokujizo Statutes, while Yoh imagines something else.

Funbari Poem 2000

Near the end of 1999 where Yoh and Anna stay at home until Manta picks them up for the shrine visit.

Trivia[]

  • The characters from Hiroyuki Takei's first manga, Butsu Zone, were featured, with only Jizoh having a voiceover (CV: Mayumi Tanaka)
