Komeri (コメリ・ハーダグリ, Komeri Hādaguri) is a fictional character in the Shaman King manga and anime series. She is a young girl of Indian origin and a member of Gandhara. For the Shaman Fight, she is part of Gandhara's Team "Nyorai", with Sati Saigan and Daiei.

For the Flower of Maize, she is the General of Team B.

Komeri is a young girl who is short and always seen with beads in her hand.

Personality

Despite the rigorous daily training she undergoes, Komeri remains happy and deeply respects Sati Saigan. Komeri does hope for a quick end to the Shaman Fight so that she can return to a normal life in India with her friends in Gandhara.

Abilities and Powers

Komeri is an incredibly talented shaman for her age and trained to be the next leader of Gandhara. Like the rest of Gandhara, she has undergone training in Hell to strengthen her soul and further increase her furyoku, enabling her to handle Kami-class spirits. The Buddhistic spirits of Gandhara also have furyoku-nullification abilities, enabling the hosting shamans to win battles with minimal violence.

During the Shaman Fight in Tokyo 2000, Komeri's Guardian Ghost is Batoh Nyorai, a kami-class Buddha spirit. Komeri later inherited Jizoh Nyorai, another kami-class Buddha spirit, from Daiei. She used a pair of stone statues as intermediaries for both Batoh and Jizoh.

History

Past

Komeri was born on February 1, 1994 in New Delhi, India. She attended a school established by Sati Saigan, who discovered the girl's outstanding shamanic talent and invited her to join Gandhara. Komeri undergoes daily rigorous training and teaching by Sati so that she could one day be the next leader of Gandhara.

Coming to Tokyo

Komeri and the other qualifying competitors attended the opening ceremony at Mimata Hall.

A month later, Komeri and the other competitors gathered at Yokocha Base and were flown to America in the Patch Jumbo. The shamans were tasked with locating and reaching the Patch Village within three months. While still tens of thousands of feet in the air, the jumbo jet was revealed to be an Over Soul shortly before it was dematerialized, dropping all of its passengers. Gandhara rode on the group's elephant and descended safely to the ground.

The Gandhara members successfully reached the village, and Komeri joined Team "Nyorai" for the tournament, with Sati and Daiei.

Shaman Fights Second Round

As Peyote Diaz and Turbine fought and mortally wounded Umemiya Ryunosuke, Gandhara arrived to revive and protect Ryu due to Asakura Yoh's kind and pure-hearted prayer.

The next day, Team "Nyorai" faced off against and easily defeated Team "Haiti 800", dissolving their Zombie Soldiers.

The next day, Komeri and the rest of Gandhara watched as Team "Myooh" faced off against Team "The Ren".

In preparation for the final battle, most of the Gandhara members met up with Yoh, and Sati sent him to Hell in order for him to train and become one of the Five Elemental Warriors. After Sati explained to Team "Funbari Onsen" about Gandhara's mission, Namari confronted them about their plan to steal the Five Grand Elemental Spirits from the Patch Tribe. Komeri was frightened by Namari's presence. Namari then informed them that Team "X-II" had been killed so Team "Nyorai" would face Team "Kabbalahers" next.

As Namari left, Team "Tsuki-Gumi" arrived and tried to bait Ryu into a fight. When Sati was distracted stopping Ryu, Hang Zang-Ching stabbed her in the back, killing her. Team "Tsuki-Gumi" then managed to kill the rest of the Gandhara members there. Johann Faust VIII revived Yoh, who quickly defeated Team "Tsuki-Gumi" by himself. After Johann revived Sati, she revived Iron Maiden Jeanne and together, the two women revived everyone else.

After Lyserg Diethel's revival, Teams "Nyorai", "Deva", and "Kabbalhers" withdrew from the tournament, allowing Team "X-I" to continue on and bringing an end to the match between Teams "Funbari Onsen" and "The Ren".

Invading the Plants

After the four Grand Elemental Spirits had been retrieved from Hell, the Gandhara members boarded the Sphinx so they could deliver the spirits to Mū. However, before they reached the underwater continent, Asakura Hao awoke as the Shaman King and destroyed the Sphinx and everyone inside it.

The Gandhara members then boarded the train of souls in the Great Spirit and rode it the highest commune in support of the Five Elemental Warriors' fight against Hao. After Hao was placated, he revived the fallen shamans.

Flower of Maize

In 2014, Komeri, along with Jizoh and Batoh, tracked Sati to Funbari Hill on her way to Kyoto. At the cemetery, Komeri encountered Ichihara Ryuji and was shocked to find out that he not only could see ghosts but also knew Asakura Hana. After learning that Team Hao was already sent to Kyoto, Komeri made her way to the train station, with Ryuji following behind. Batoh and Jizoh tried to warn off Ryuji, but he refused to back down.

Suddenly the group was beset upon by Shiva Sahasranama. Komeri Over Souled both Batoh and Jizoh, but they were both quickly shattered. The sight of Shiva caused Ryuji to lose consciousness, and Komeri struggled to avert her gaze, despite recognizing Shiva and the threat that staring at him would pose to her life. She succeeded in looking away and noticed that time had frozen for everyone else. After recalling the last time Gandhara had faced Shiva, Komeri re-summoned Batoh and Jizoh, but they were shattered again. Before she could try a third time, Shiva struck her with an Absolute Curse Return. However, Tamamura Tamao and the Hana-Gumi Waitresses arrived to save her life. Tamao invited Shiva to stay at Funbari Onsen, and Komeri was confused by Shiva's amusement at the invitation. As Tamao and Shiva fought, Komeri marvelled at Tamao's skill and Kahen Tengu "Dai-Garasu" Over Soul. When Shiva acknowledged Tamao's dimensional art and power, Komeri realized why Sati came to Tamao for help.

Komeri was then shocked by Shiva's sudden disappearance. She also questioned who Shiva meant by "this many of us," and Tamao and Kanna Bismarch clarified that over 100 shamans were working together to create Shiva's Over Soul. Komeri then requested to learn the Cloud technique. Tamao agreed but warned that Komeri would have to abandon something precious.

Anime/Manga Difference

Komeri, like many Gandhara members, does not appear in the 2001 anime series.
