Shaman King Wiki

Larch Dirac (ラーキ・ディラック Rāki Dirakku) is a fictional character in the manga and anime series of Shaman King. He is a member of the X-Laws and Team "X-II" and he was once a member of U.S. Delta Forces.

Larch is a tall, well-built, muscular man with a short blonde military crew cut, although a few bangs still hang loosely in the front and he has a short five o'clock beard. For unknown reasons, Larch is constantly seen with a bandage right below his left eye.

He wears a standard X-Laws uniform with a block-shaped shoulder guard.

His street clothes consist of a white undershirt, dark blue pants, and boots. Like the rest of X-II, he is revealed to still carry around his old military uniform, that he put on when he and the rest of X-II decided to target Asakura Hao one last time.

Like many of the X-Laws, Larch is an extremist believer that the end justifies the means.

His hobby is drinking.[1]

Learning that Marco had lied about Jeanne´s origins, Larch, along with the rest of his team lost their faith in Marco as a captain.

Abilities and Powers[]

See More: Uriel

Larch's guardian ghost is that of Archangel Uriel( アークエンジェル・ユリエル). Uriel is a mechanical Archangel spirit that runs on the "Angel Engine". Like all other archangels, Uriel has the ability to shatter souls. It was first seen when the X-Laws revealed themselves and were attacked by "Big Guy" Bill Burton.[2]

Larch was born on October 13. 1971 in Los Angeles, United States. He was once a member of the Delta Forces, who participated in operation "Restore Hope" in the year 1993.

Shaman Fights Second Round[]

One night, Marco and the remaining X-Laws were visited by Yoh, who wanted Marco's permission to once again participate in the Shaman Fights. However, instead of arguing with them Yoh quickly revealed his resolve to fight with them.[3] In turn Marco was quick to decide that Yoh was allied with Hao and therefore his soul had to be destroyed, and together with Team "X-II" attacked Yoh, but Yoh easily dodged all of their attacks as he had used Hyoi-Gattai with Amidamaru.

After the failed attack by Luchist Lasso on their cargo ship, and the revelation that Iron Maiden Jeanne was not a holy person, Larch alongside Porf Griffith and John Denbat decided that Marco could no longer be trusted and that it was time to face off with Asakura Hao one last time.[4]

The mission was planned so that Larch and John would take guard posts, while Porf would target Hao from a small distance with his sniper rifle. After some small chat about whether or not they should go through with the mission, Porf reported that he was in position, but when he had Hao's head in his target, he would suddenly lose focus due to seeing Hao crying.

Larch being burned by Hao

As Team X-II's attempt to kill Hao fails, Porf is the first to die by being impaled by the Spirit of Fire, something Larch and John become aware of when Porf's radio goes completely silent. When Larch and John heard Porf over the radio telling them to run for it, Larch panics and flees in fear, where he meets his unfortunate end by Hao's hand, who proceeds to burn Larch to death .[5] as Hao later tells John that they had seen something they shouldn't.

I am in a bad mood... your friends... saw something forbidden. Your soul will be consumed with you... in every way! You won`t be going to Heaven or Hell!

-Asakura Hao to John, before killing him.[6]

Invading the Plants[]

When Hao created a Black Hole within the Great Spirit, the X-Laws appeared in their "Supercars" to protect the Soul Train.[7]
