Larch Dirac (ラーキ・ディラック, Raaki Dirakku, Larch Dirac, Larch in the English anime) is a fictional character in the manga and anime series of Shaman King. A member of the X-Laws and Team "X-II", Larch has, like the rest of the X-Laws, suffered in some way by the hands of Asakura Hao. He was once a member of U.S. Delta Forces.
Appearance
Larch is a tall, well-built, muscular man with a short blonde military crew cut, although a few bangs still hangs loosely in the front, and he has a short thin beard around his mouth and cheeks. For some unknown reason is he constantly seen with a bandage right below his left eye.
He wears a standard X-Laws uniform with a block shaped shoulder guard.
His street clothes consist of a white undershirt, dark blue pants, and boots.
Like the rest of X-II he has revealed to still carry around his old military uniform, that he put on when he and the rest of X-II decided to target Asakura Hao one last time.
Personality
Like many of the X-Laws, Larch is an extremist believer that the end justifies the means.

Shaman Fights Second Round
One night, Marco and the remaining X-Laws were visited by Yoh, who wanted Marco's permission to once again participate in the Shaman Fights. However instead of arguing with them Yoh quickly revealed his resolve to fight with them.[2] In turn Marco was quick to decide that Yoh was allied with Hao and therefor his soul had to be destroyed, and together with Team "X-II" attacked Yoh, but Yoh easily dodged all of their attacks as he had used Hyoi Gattai with Amidamaru.
After the failed attack by Luchist Lasso on their cargo ship, and the revelation that Iron Maiden Jeanne was not a holy person, Larch alongside Porf Griffith and John Denbat decided that Marco could no longer be trusted and that it was time to face off with Asakura Hao one last time.[3]
The mission was planned so that Larch and John would take guard posts, while Porf would target Hao from a small distance with his sniper rifle. After some small chit-chat about whether or not they should go through with the mission, Porf reported that he was in position, but when he had Hao's head in his target, he would suddenly lose focus due to seeing Hao crying.
As Team X-II's attempt to kill Hao fails, Porf is the first to die by being impaled by the Spirit of Fire, something Larch and John becomes aware of when Porf's radio goes silent. When Larch and John hears Porf over the radio telling them to run, Larch panics and flee in fear, where he meets his unfortunate end at Hao's hand, who proceeds to burn Larch into a crisp.[4] Hao later tells John that they had seen something they shouldn't.
“ | "I am in a bad mood... your friends... saw something forbidden. Your soul will be consumed with you... in every way! You won`t be going to Heaven or Hell!" -Asakura Hao to John, before killing him.[5] |
