For the spirit used by Luchist Lasso, see Lucifer (Mobile).

Lucifer (ルシフェル Rushiferu), also known as the Devil King Satan (魔王サタン Maō Satan),[1] is a fictional character in the Shaman King manga and anime series. He was the chief angel before being expelled for turning against God. After this fall, he became a devil[2] and a prominent ruler in Hell.[3]

He was the Guardian Ghost of Luke Lasso[4] and passed to Spimea Lasso after Luke's death.[5] A piece of the angel was used to create Luchist Lasso's Mobile Angel, Lucifer.[6]

For the Flower of Maize, Lucifer is the Guardian Ghost of Kamogawa Yohsuke.[7][8]

About[]

Lucifer was once the chief of angels. Through cultural exchange, his depiction inspired similar deities and he came to be worshipped in various societies under different names, including as Dainichi Nyorai and Shiva Sahasranama. At some point, Lucifer was expelled from the Big Heaven for opposing God and was labeled a fallen angel and devil. Afterwards, Lucifer split himself into multiple pieces in order to seek answers for his personal questions, as well as to research his own legends.[2]

After Asakura Hao stole the Spirit of Fire in AD 1500, the Patch Tribe initially considered entrusting the Spirit of Wind with Lucifer since he was a prominent ruler in Hell. However, they decided against doing so because Lucifer was too well known and too powerful to be bound by a contract.[3]

Lucifer is rather quiet but can be hostile and is unpredictable; their choices to have Luke and Spimea as shamans and follow them despite the two having completely different and contradicting objectives. Lucifer tends to avoid direct combat though he instantly ambushed Oume Kaizou when he saw Lucifer by awakening his shaman power, but they still cared not to hurt others around them.[4] Lucifer also threatened Sati Saigan by slashing her cheek when she greeted the chief members of Daremoine.[2]

For the Flower of Maize, Fra YVS seeks to restore Lucifer and fuse him with Kamogawa Yohsuke, so that Lucifer is the dominant personality.[7] To this end, Spimea Lasso sought out and recovered the piece of Lucifer held by Luchist Lasso,[9] and Sati Saigan brought Dainichi to be reunited with Lucifer.[10] The ritual to recombine the pieces of Lucifer is described as a dark baptism and was set to take place underground, beneath Kyoto Tower.[11] However, the fighting and destruction around Kyoto Tower forced Daremoine to relocate the ritual to the Tokyo Skytree.[7] Yohsuke ultimately follows through with the ritual, fusing with Lucifer.[8]

O.S. Lucifer[]

Lucifer O.S.

O.S. "Lucifer"

O.S. "Lucifer" (O.S. ルシフェル Rushiferu)
  • Shaman: Luke Lasso; Spimea Lasso
  • O.S. Type: Spirit Type
  • Spirit Ally: Lucifer
  • Medium used: A bullet for an antique gun

Description: Unlike the other spirits seen so far, Lucifer was seen riding and driving their O.S. themselves.[4] Their O.S. stays the same while being created by different shamans.

Even while missing multiples "pieces" of himself, Lucifer instantly overwhelmed and destroyed all known mechanical angels within the blink of an eye, and Azazel's full blasts had no effect on Lucifer. Shortly after, however, Lucifer was overwhelmed and Spimea was heavily wounded by Marco Lasso who had become a real angel.[9]

Attacks
  • Lucifer's Hammer-Shot (ルシファーズハンマーショット Rushifāzu Hanmā Shotto): Lucifer transforms its mace into a gun.[12]
