Mesa Verdede (メサ・ヴェルデデ Mesa Verudede) is a fictional American national park in Colorado[1] and the location of the hidden Patch Village.[2]

About[]

Mesa Verdede is a popular tourist destination due to the abandoned ruins of a village built into the side of the mesa. The village once housed an advanced, native civilization that disappeared long before European colonists arrived.[2] Hidden cameras are placed around the ruins so the Patch Tribe can monitor people outside.[3]

A roped off path leads into a labyrinth of staircases and ruins which lead deep underground. The maze is protected by traps, as well as hidden doors and passages, and the true path to the Patch Village can only be sensed by the chosen shamans.[4]

Anime/Manga Differences[]

In the 2001 anime series, Mesa Verdede is replaced by a similar but unnamed cliff dwelling that appears and disappears as if a mirage.[5]
