Morimura Banji (森村伴児) is a fictional character in the Shaman King The Super Star manga series. Banji was a police officer in Nagano Prefecture.[1]

About[]

Banji is the father of Morimura Hitoshi, who also became a police officer. Banji had a fifth-degree black belt in judo and was a strong symbol for justice, according to his son.

Banji died while investigating the wealthy war veteran and industrialist Oume Kaizou. The official cause was that he lost his footing and fell into the valley, but his son suspects Kaizou to have been involved,[1] which Banji later confirms.[2]

When Kaizou's men come to the police station to attack Alumi Numbirch, she channels Banji's spirit in order to utilize his judo prowess to swiftly dispatch the three men.[1] After the incident, Banji uses Alumi as a medium to berate his son for his inaction when Alumi faced Kaizou's men. After telling Hitoshi, about Kaizou's past, he noted that he was nonetheless proud of Hitoshi for rising to the challenge of investigating Kaizou's safe.[2]
