Oknox (オノックス Onokkusu) is a fictional character in the Shaman King Zero manga series.
Appearance[]
Oknox was a rather large and obese man who could barely fit his head through a door in his own home. Befitting his title as a count, he was well dressed in black and white clothes and had short black hair and a small moustache.
Personality[]
Though he initially appeared to be a benevolent and charitable man, he was actually rather ruthless when it came to his criminal activities, killing Wat Hudson on a whim to test if Lyserg Diethel possessed the same skills as his father and attempting to kill Lyserg once he became a threat.
History[]
Oknox used his wealth to take in orphans from the street and give them a comfortable home to live in, though it is only a front to cover the fact that he dealt in human trafficking. His day job appeared to be working as a notary clerk. Oknox once hired Liam Diethel, who would later get a hunch of his dealings though Liam's premature death stopped any possible investigation.
He took in Wat Hudson who had been living in the sewers and later Liam's son, Lyserg Diethel, after the latter's grandfather died. When the two boys wanted to start a detective agency, Oknox approved their idea and offered to help them. However, when Wat confronted Oknox about his human trafficking, Oknox killed the boy and decided to test if Lyserg had his father's abilities.
Oknox brought a group of armed men with him to confront Lyserg, but Lyserg used Morphin to disarm the men and point their guns at Oknox instead. After Wat convinced Lyserg not to kill Oknox, Lyserg dropped the guns, so Oknox picked up two and shot the boy. Asakura Hao later burned Oknox and the men, and although Lyserg had taken a bullet to the stomach, the boy survived. Police blamed the event on a mafia dispute.[1]
