The Patch Village (パッチの村 Patchi no Mura) is the home of the Patch Tribe, hidden deep within Mesa Verdede. As Ragoh and Keito pass by the Earth, the Great Spirit appears in the village in preparation for the Shaman Fight and the raising of a new Shaman King.[1]

As part of the Shaman Fight, the competitors are dropped into North America and given three months to locate and travel to the village.[2]

Years after the Shaman Fight, Kamogawa Yohsuke and YVS, with help from the Rapt, destroyed the village and killed the Patch Tribe (except Alumi Numbirch).[3]

About[]

The path down from Mesa Verdede is a labyrinth of staircases and ruins which lead deep underground. The maze is protected by traps, as well as hidden doors and passages, and the true path can only be sensed by the chosen shamans.[4]

The village is located in a giant cavern. The buildings are made from mudbricks, and the various clusters of buildings are separated by forests. At the center of the cavern, the Great Spirit rises up from the ground.[1]

For the safety of the tribe, Shaman Fight participants stay in the Competitors' Village (選手村 Senshu-mura), an area separate from the tribe's homes. This section is filled with various gift shops, stores, and restaurants operated by the ten officiants as a means of generating money for the tribe and tournament.[5]

Anime/Manga Differences[]

In the 2001 anime, the Patch Village also served as the location for the main tournament, whereas in the manga and 2021 anime series, the tournament took place on the island Tokyo.
