Phillip M. Wyden (フィリップ・Mモリアス・ワイデン Firippu Moriasu Waiden)[1] is a fictional character in the Shaman King manga sequel series. He is the media mogul of Daremoine.[2][3] Although an ally of Team YVS,[4] he is the General of Team Gilgames for the Flower of Maize.[5]

Appearance[]

Phillip is large man who towers over most others. He typically wears a dark-colored suit, a light-colored ascot, and a mask that covers his face.

Personality[]

Abilities and Powers[]

As a shaman, Phillip can see, hear,[6] and interact with spirits.[7]

History[]

Marcos[]

Phillip attends a meeting of Daremoine within an underground facility built by the Lasso Family.[3] Kamogawa Yohsuke asks them all to continue with their own preparations while he finishes readying the ritual to restore Lucifer.[8]

After several facilities belonging to the Lasso and Dong Families are destroyed, Phillip keeps negative news about their organization from being leaked. He then contacts Spimea to chastise her about the mess caused by her having let Luchist Lasso live. However, she simply thanks Phillip for his help, which irritates him. When he questions whether this should mean the Lasso Family is unfit to participate in the Flower of Maize, she points that it is not his decision to make before hanging up on him, which further irritates him.[2]

Flowers[]

Phillip later attends the meeting of Daremoine and Team YVS in the Kyoto Tower. Yohsuke introduces them to fellow member Sati Saigan and her Guardian Ghost, Dainichi Nyorai, who is the final piece of Lucifer.[4] When Dainichi voices his and Sati's belief in saving everyone, Phillip calls out their betrayal and their visits to Hao's allies.[9] After the Four Holy Beasts defeat Dainichi and break his statue, Phillip takes hold of Dainichi's spirit and gloats over Sati. However, Sati counters that such delight from others' negative feelings is fleeting. Disgusted with Sati's attitude, Niaes Varge uses O.S. "Jeanne Schwarz" to stab Sati. The meeting is then interrupted by Tetts[7] and Asakura Hana.[10]

As the fight between Peyote Diaz and Yun Namukada begins to quake Kyoto, Phillip is watching them on his monitors and marvels over the power of New Trance. Due to the risk to the tower, Master Mo sends the Four Holy Beasts to put a stop to the fighting. Hana yells at them all for ignoring him.[11] When Sati accepts her fate as YVS' false messiah, Spimea fuses her with Moloch, despite Phillip's protests about the risk to the tower's integrity.[12] Hana laughs about Sati's transformation, which causes Spimea to hesitate, so Master Mo uses his own New Trance to attack the boy but is stopped by Sati and Spimea (in her own New Trance). To everyone's shock, Hana drops his Over Soul and offers to be Yohsuke's friend.[13] Reminded of Hana's parents, Master Mo reveals his identity as Oyamada Mansumi and calls out Phillip's Helpers for Team Gilgames: Asakura Yoh and Anna.[5]
