Progress (進化 Shinka) is the 8th episode of the 2021 Shaman King anime series.
Summary[]
While recovering in the hospital, Oyamada Manta is visited by his family, and his father forbids him from seeing Asakura Yoh again and plans to send Manta to school in America. Manta later runs into Yoh at the hospital, but Yoh acts coldly to drive him away. However, when Manta gets to the airport, he runs away from his family and encounters Umemiya Ryunosuke, who offers to drive him to Izumo, where Yoh has gone to train.
In Izumo, Yohmei sends Yoh into the Cavern of Shamans in order to increase his furyoku. While Yoh is training, Tamamura Tamao divines that someone short and someone tall will bring trouble to Yoh, so she attacks Manta and Ryu. Kyōyama Anna stops Tamao and reveals Ponchi and Conchi's lie. After seven days, Yoh emerges from the cave, having grown stronger, and as a result, his Over Soul with Amidamaru has evolved.
Meanwhile, Tao Jun has returned to China, and Ren and Bason prepare for their rematch against Yoh.
