The Rapt (ラプト Raputo) are a fictional race of reptilian beings in the Shaman King manga and anime series. Several of them are in league with Team YVS and assisted in the genocide of the Patch Tribe.[1]
About[]
The Rapt appear as tall, long-limbed reptilian humanoids with scaly skin and prehensile tails.
Several Rapt, along with Kamogawa Yohsuke and YVS, destroyed the Patch Village and massacred the Patch Tribe, intentionally leaving Alumi Numbirch as the sole survivor.[1]

Abilities and Powers[]
In their natural forms, Rapt are physically strong and resilient[1] and capable of explosive bursts of speed.[2] Like shaman, they can perceive spirits.[3] Through the use of dimensional arts, they can instantly shift between their normal and human forms, as well as perceive other dimensional layers.[4]
They enjoy eating humans, and doing so can rapidly heal their injuries.[1]
Anime/Manga Differences[]
The Rapt added in the anime
Although the Rapt never appear in the Shaman King Flowers manga, the anime adaptation added two of them into flashbacks of the Patch Village's destruction.[5][6]
Trivia[]
- The Dragon Tribe (竜族 Ryūzoku) also can transform into reptilian creatures.[7] It is unknown if the two groups are connected.
