History[]

Past[]

She was born on April 15, 1922[1] in America. She served as a consultant to the wives of US Presidents by using her tarot cards for fortune-telling.[3] During World War II, she attended a leadership summit in Morocco, where she met and befriended fellow witches Marlin and Lil Red.[4] She retired after she married the executive of an advertising agency, and together they had a happy family, until his death. As she aged, she grew more unhappy with her appearance, so she started searching for the secret of eternal youth. Based on oral tradition passed down in her family for generations, she concluded that the key to it lay in the Shaman Fight. She participated in the Shaman Fight against the wishes of her daughter and grandchildren.[3]

Shaman Fight[]

Samansa teamed up with her old friends, who also wanted be young again, and formed Team "Magical Princess". However, in their first match of the tournament, all three were killed by the younger witches of Team "Hana-Gumi". Matilda Matisse's Jack sliced through Samansa's Over Soul and then bisected the old witch.[5]

During the Five Elemental Warriors' fight against the new Shaman King, Hao, the witches boarded the train of souls and rode it up to the highest commune. After Hao dispelled his Over Soul and the black hole, the witches pleaded for him to resurrect them in younger bodies; however, he glared at them and stated that he had no intention to resurrect anyone.[6]

Ultimately, Hao was convinced to resurrect those killed during the Shaman Fight, but it is unknown if Samansa, Marlin, and Lil Red were among those revived.

Anime/Manga Difference[]

Samansa does not appear in the 2001 anime series, and she briefly appears in the 2021 anime series after her death.
