History[]

Past[]

Savage Pan was born on August 18, 1965 in Canada and used to work as a fisherman but ended up becoming a shaman whilst fighting for his life during a fishing trip, during which an old man appeared suddenly before him, the ghost of Captain Roll. As it turned out, the boat used to belong to Roll back when he was alive and he provided Savage Pan with the coordinates to follow in order to make it out alive. It was from that day onward that he became a shaman.

Sometime later, Captain Roll explained how he had perished on one of his other ships that had sunk years ago containing a valuable family treasure, one that Savage Pan decided to recover. However, he found that he could not do it alone and did not have the money needed to hire the help; it was around then Pan decided to enter the Shaman Fight in order to find his lost family members and re-float the ship.

Shaman Fight in Tokyo[]

Not much is known about his performance during the preliminary round, but Savage Pan did win two matches and advanced to the main competition. He and the other qualifying competitors attended the opening ceremony at Mimata Hall.[3]

Traveling Through America[]

A month later, Savage Pan and the other competitors gathered at Yokocha Base and were flown to America in the Patch Jumbo. They were all given the task of locating and reaching the Patch Village within three months. Then, while still tens of thousands of feet in the air, the jumbo jet was revealed to be an Over Soul shortly before it was dematerialized, dropping all of its passengers.[4]

Savage Pan teamed up with Mr. Little Lake and Green Garam and reached Yonta Fe, where they tried to get Lilirara to tell them where the Patch Village was, only for her to say it would not work because their weak minds were too small and degenerate for her tricks. Enraged, Pan and his companions tried to force her to tell them, but all three of them were quickly struck down by Usui Horokeu and knocked unconscious.[5] The next day, the three men returned to Lilirara's home in the hopes of getting revenge on her but instead witnessed Asakura Hao killing Lilirara. Hao then incinerated all three of them because their furyoku levels were too low to be of use to him.[1]

Epilogue[]

After Hao became Shaman King, Savage Pan, Mr. Little Lake, and Green Garam boarded the train of souls in the Great Spirit and traveled to the highest level in support of the Five Elemental Warriors. When Team "Magical Princesses" pleaded for Hao to resurrect them in younger bodies, Savage Pan and others yelled at the women for upsetting Hao.[6]

Anime/Manga Difference[]

In the 2001 anime, Pan, Little Lake, and Garam were attacked by Lyserg Diethel in his desperate search for strong partners.[7] They later proceeded to team up and get their revenge on Lyserg after being handed Morphin's cage by one of Hao's followers. However, their plans were folded once Asakura Yoh and his allies came to Lyserg's aid and defeated all three of them. Afterwards, Asakura Hao killed them for their failure.[8]

In the 2021 anime, his role closely follows the events of the manga, although he, Garam, and Little Lake are not killed by Hao's Spirit of Fire and not seen aboard the train in the Great Spirit.
