When they catch Oyamada Manta sneaking around, they beat him for trespassing. The next day, Asakura Yoh confronts the gang for hurting his friend and upsetting the cemetery's ghosts. Ryu orders Space Shot and Apache to attack Yoh. The pair pull out switchblades, but Yoh integrates with Amidamaru and easily defeats them, knocking them unconscious with a wooden grave marker.[1]
Ryu and his gang later try to take over the burned out restaurant China Wok, but they are kicked out by Tao Ren, who had purchased the building and moved in.[3]
