Tao Kyou (
Kyou is a young male that is short in stature. He has black hair that is styled in a semi-spiky manner, black eyes and fair skin. In terms of attire, he wears a blue T-shirt with a zipped-up black vest over it accompanied by dark beige shorts and black boots.
Kyou shares several personality traits with his sister, Tao Soumei. Although he is only a child, Kyou has displayed a rather serious and aggressive demeanor, for a good example of this side of his personality is when he had his guardian ghost continuously and ruthlessly attack Tao Jun and Lee Pyron until he was forced to stop when Tao Ren intervened. In addition to this, he also has a vengeful side, as proven by his anger towards Ren and actions towards Jun, both of which were stemmed from the fact that he thought that he and his sisters were betrayed by them.
However, in spite of his tough attitude, Kyou was also shown to have a soft and somewhat emotional side, most especially when it comes to his older sister, Tao Ginny. This is attested by the fact that he, with Soumei, tearfully told Ren and his friends that Ginny never had any romantic relationships because she spent the majority of her life serving the Tao family. (In the English version, instead of crying about Ginny never having any romances, they cried that their older sister wasn't able to realize her dream of becoming a ballerina because of her time serving the family). This shows that he greatly cares about Ginny and that he thinks of her happiness.
Kyou also seems to have somewhat childish traits, particularly a slight fearful side, as seen as when he visibly recoiled after being shouted at by Ren for attacking Jun.
Abilities and Powers
Tao Kyou is a capable Daoshi, he was skilled enough to qualify and participate in the Shaman Tournament. In addition to this, through coordinating with his sisters, he is able to promptly defeat opponents with relative ease. He was also able to give Lee Pyron, the ghost of a highly skilled Kung-Fu master, a difficult time in battling him and his spirit (albeit with help from Soumei).
