Theodoros Alogospoulos (テオ・アロゴスプロス, "Theodoros Arogosupurosu") is a fictional character in the manga series of Shaman King. He is a shaman from Greece who came to Tokyo in order to participate in the Shaman Fights.
Appearance
Personality
Theodoros believed that death was not the end but merely the beginning and justified it by explaining that once one met death, one would understand what life was all about. According to Faust VIII Theodoros was rather insane.[1]
Abilties and Powers
Theodoros uses black magic, that was originally thought to be lost, from Greece. He uses this to control the undead, much as a necromancer does.[2]
Spirit
- See More: Spartoi
His guardian ghosts are that of just 8 out of the 300 Spartans who died fighting the army of 1.000.000 Persians. They all wield authentic antique weapons.
History
Past
A shaman from Greece, Theodoros, after receiving the oracle of the gods, brought back ancient black magic, that was otherwise thought to be lost in Greece. However; he still lacked both numerous techniques and knowledge, and so decided to participate in the Shaman Fights to obtain further knowledge.
Shaman Fights in Tokyo
During the first round, Theodoros was set up to fight against Johann Faust VIII, a man who also uses skeletons. Seeing how strong his robust Spartan soldiers were against Faust's simple skeletons, Theodoros thought that Faust had no chance. They even had a small chat about life and death and who was most insane one before the fight began.[1]
However, the place where they fought was the Ueno Park, a place where patriots from the end of the Edo Era lay to rest. Faust proceeded to summon them all and easily outnumbered Theodoros and his Spartans, just as the Persians had done with the Spartans at the battle of Thermopylae. In the end, Theodoros was defeated and killed.[2]
Anime/Manga Difference
Though mentioned in the anime series he only appears in the manga series
Trivia
- When Faust is first mentioned in the manga series, the shadowy image of him greatly resembles Theodoros.
