Thorim (トリム Torimu) is a fictional character from the Shaman King Flowers manga and anime series. He is the captain of the Knights Templar, the previous Patch Officiants who serve Fra YVS.[1]
Appearance[]
Thorim has long black hair, a long black mustache and a goatee. His face is very gruff, and Kalim describes it as more terrifying than his own.
As a Patch Officiant, he wore the traditional Patch cloak and robes. His headband was decorated with triangles and a feather at both temples. His plate was shaped like the head of an ankylosaur.[2]
As a Templar Knight, Thorim wears a hooded cloak and plate armor emblazoned with the order's cross. Unlike his fellow members, his helmet has long horns, resembling the ones worn by Fra YVS.[1]
As a biker, he wears a black vest, black pants, a chain belt, and a black hat with an upturned brim and teeth decorating the hatband. He also wears red shin guards and spiked knee guards, as well as a chain connected to his belt buckle and looped through his rear belt loop. He keeps his machete in a scabbard in the back of his vest.[3]
Personality[]
Abilities and Powers[]
Thorim has a particularly strong will. While in a dimensional body, he suffers repeated fatal injuries—including decapitation—but his body does not disappear, unlike his subordinates.[4][5]
Spirit[]
- See More: Machete Dragon
Thorim's Guardian Ghost is an ankylosaur called Machete Dragon and its medium is his machete.[3] His Over Soul takes the form of spiked armor that covers his shoulders, legs, and arms, as well as a massive spiked club to use as a weapon.[6]
History[]
Past[]
When Asakura Hao was a child growing up in the Patch Tribe, during his second life, Thorim always helped him when he was bullied.
Thorim was one of Patch Officiants responsible for the Shaman Fight in AD 1500. After Fra YVS won and became Shaman King, Thorim voiced the Patch Officiants disapproval of YVS' methods of wining and how none of them wished to protect him while he was joining with the Great Spirit. When Uran Uran argued for YVS' methods, the Patch Officiant Hydro revealed himself as Asakura Hao reincarnated and how he had stolen the Spirit of Fire, to the shock of everyone present.[2]
Thorim and his fellow officiants eventually converted to YVS' religion, following the tribe's laws, and became the Knights Templar, with Thorim also becoming captain of the Divine Guard. In the 500 years they spent in the Great Spirit, they also became a biker gang and opened the Patcy Cat bar.[1]
Flowers[]
After Sakurai Sakutaro and Kamogawa Yohsuke mutually killed each other in the Mini Ashura Hell, Thorim and two other Knights came over to collect the robot YVS. Thorim greeted their descendants—Thallim, Kalim, and Renim—and warned them against interfering in YVS' unstoppable plan.[1]
Through dimensional shifting, the Knights Templar were manifested physically into the world. In order to retrieve a piece of YVS' power, Team YVS tracked down Asakura Yohkyo to a store in Kyoto, Japan, and Thorim attacked him, easily defeating him and his Giong. After Thorim returned the piece to Yohsuke, the Knights escorted Yohsuke, Dong Honhon, and Niaes Varge to Kyoto Tower.[7]
On the night of the ritual, the Knights Templar sat outside Kyoto Tower in order to keep people away from it. When Hana showed up and insisted on seeing Yohsuke, Thorim found the idea ridiculous but hesitated to fight Hana until the boy summoned out his oni Over Soul. Thorim smashed Hana down through the road and into an underground tunnel and brought out his own armor-type Over Soul. Thorim repeatedly struck Hana as he warned the boy about the ritual's dangers, the Knights' dragon spirits, and the world's darkness. Although Thorim had battered and broken the boy's body, the oni held his body together and Hana persisted, revealing his intended Miracle Prize: to know everything. Thorim tried to caution Hana about such a wish but was interrupted by Tamurazaki Midori and Mohamed Tabarsi, whose Djinn pierced Thorim and Hana through their hearts.[8]
After Argo, Gali, Zirko, and Aen failed to escape with Hana's body, Thorim clung to life and challenged Turbine, but Hana punched Turbine for the interruption. Thorim was shocked to see that Hana had healed himself and was close to achieving New Trance. Peyote Diaz then arrived to take on Turbine, so Hana continued on toward Kyoto Tower and told Thorim that he still wanted to hear the rest of what Thorim had to say. However, Thorim was later attacked[9] by Yun Namukada and Kali because he refused to let the pair steal the souls of Peyote and Mohamed. Kali beheaded Thorim and continued carrying his head in one of her hands, even after she fused with Yun[10] and fought with Peyote's New Trance, "El Muerte".[11]
Team Marcos put a stop to Peyote and Yun's fight and then engaged in a fight against Dong Dehon and Suhon.[12] While watching the fight, Rin, Califora, and Krypt questioned what they should be doing, at which point Thorim's head spoke up, shocking his subordinates. He told Krypt to carry him to Hana and ordered Rin and Califora to treat the wounded, especially Mohamed.[13]
